Career Options & Gaining Professional Qualifications

Some 60 – 70% of graduates of the Faculty of Humanities find employment with private businesses in a variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, telecommunications, transport, wholesale & retail, finance & insurance, hospitality & catering, medicine and social services. Another 20% of graduates go on to careers in the civil service, local government or teaching. While a relatively large number of graduates seek work in their home prefecture, many graduates also choose to work in Tokyo, Kanagawa and similar urban areas. In addition, each year another 10 or so graduates go on to graduate school in Yamaguchi or elsewhere. In a typical year, over 90% of graduates seeking employment are successful in finding it.
